Mrs. Earnest's 2nd Grade Distance Learning Plan
As we transition to online learning, I want to reassure you that I will be available by phone or online from 9-11:30 each school day to answer any questions you or your child might have about assignments. If you have questions or concerns outside of this timeframe, I am available by email. I will make every effort to respond to emails within the same business day.
I am committed to making sure that your child feels a sense of community and has fun while learning at home. To this end, I will be posting a daily “Morning Meeting” video each day and calling to check-in. Each school day that we are following this distance learning plan, you will be responsible for ensuring your student completes their assigned activities by 8 pm on that day to be counted as “present” for attendance purposes.

Here are a couple of tips/pointers for those of you who are practicing at home:
- If you look at the top of your child’s homepage for Google Classroom you will see “Stream, Classwork and People”. All the assignments that your child needs to complete will be listed with due dates in the “Classwork” Section.
- Some assignments will just be to practice a skill and will not have anything for you to turn in.
- There is a “Mark as Done” button for each assignment that your student can press once they have completed each activity.
- If I ask you to create something at home and take a picture of it to submit it to me, you will click the “Create” button and it will give you prompts to upload your picture or document
- You will notice that there are lots of “Materials” posted. Your student only needs to read/do the activities that are assigned to them. You will find all their individual assignments listed on the left-hand side of the page under “Upcoming” or in the “Classwork” tab at the top of the main page.
Thanks for all you are doing to help your child continue learning at home.
Blessings,
Mrs. Earnest
